>>Walking. Start with short distances such as walking
around your house to build up your endurance. Then try to increase your walking time each day. Use a walker at first and then transition
to a cane when able to walk comfortably without a limp or as directed by your therapist. Hold the cane with the opposite hand of your operative leg. Make turns by taking small steps and picking up
your feet to avoid twisting your operative leg. Walk comfortably and don’t limp. Your non-operative leg may feel
longer than your operative leg. This is because the muscles in
your operative leg are tight. Walking will help stretch these muscles out which will make the sensation
of having a longer leg go away.
