Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we’re going to show you how to change
the door shelf retainer bar end cap on your refrigerator and it’s a really easy job. The only tool you might require is a small
flat blade screwdriver. Let me show you how we do it. Now to do this repair, we’re going to start
by opening the door of the retainer bar end cap that we need to replace. In this case, we’re going to change the one
on the refrigerator freezer door. Once we’ve opened up that door, we can reach
in and just lift up on that end cap at the back. That will unlock it then you can lift
up and remove it. Then just close the door back up. Now when we flip that over, you’ll note that
there’s two little notched portions on that retainer bar that fit over a couple of tabs
on the end cap. We need to pull those out and to remove that
end cap, we’ll just take our flat blade screwdriver and just pry up on that retainer bar just
enough to release the tabs. Then remove the old end cap. We can now just close that retainer bar hoping
just to snug it up a bit. We’ll just insert the end of the end cap onto the end of the
retainer bar and push it all the way on until it locks into position and then we can reinstall
it on the refrigerator. We can now reinstall the retainer bar with
the end caps. Make sure that it slides down over the projection
on the front edge of the inner door panel then lift out on the back side to allow you
to press it down into place. Make sure locks in position. We can reload that door and our repair is
complete. I told you it was an easy job. Thanks for watching and good luck with your
repair.
