My name is Petty Officer Destiny
Brookins. I’m an aviation maintenance technician in the U.S. Coast Guard. I’m trained as a flight mechanic and
flight engineer. As part of the air crew I hoist rescue swimmers and survivors, load and
drop supplies, and emergency equipment, and back the pilots. I’m the technical
expert when it comes to troubleshooting and repairing aircraft. From fuel systems to flight controls, no Coast Guard mission can get off the
ground without me. Whether I’m assigned to fixed wing or rotary wing aircraft,
the crew depends on me to know my particular airframe inside and out. When we’re out there saving lives our safety depends on the aircraft performing at its best, and it’s my job to make sure it
does. To find out if you’re qualified, visit GoCoastGuard.com
